The jay rope has made this season so much easier. Being able to have both hands free seems small but when you’re trying to keep them warm, or check your maps, or my personal favorite.. being able to drink my coffee with ease! In all seriousness tho the jay rope is also a major part in my safety gear. All you gotta do is unclip the carabiner by the shoulder straps and unravel it as a throw rope. Thankfully I haven’t had to use mine yet but between the float suit, ice picks and now this.. I’m pretty prepped for any ice conditions! They’ve not only played a big role in our walking tournaments this year but it also eases my mind knowing I’m doing what I can to stay prepared for any sticky situations we find.
